Visiting Assistant Professor of Photography, Haverford College, Haverford PA
The Arts Foundation Photography course introduces students to the craft of black and white darkroom photography. Weekly critiques are supplemented with lectures and readings on the History of Photography and viewing of original photographic prints in the Haverford College Special Collections.
The Intermediate Color/Digital Photography course introduces more advanced students of photography to chemical and digital color technologies.  Students work with color enlargers and a 24” color machine, learning how to adjust color balance and utilize the medium to its fullest effect.  In the second portion of the semester students learn to manipulate images with Photoshop CS6 and print with a Canon 24” inkjet printer.  Weekly critiques of images encourage students to develop a focused body of work, which results in a final portfolio at the conclusion of the semester.  Weekly readings, lectures and discussions about contemporary art and photography enrich students’ understanding of the medium.
The Senior Thesis Seminar is co-taught by the Fine Art Department’s Faculty and focuses on helping students develop a body of work for a Senior Thesis exhibition at the Cantor-Fitzgerald Gallery.  Weekly group critiques are supplemented with research assignments and writing assignments that result in the development of an artist statement.
